AC Gold Appoints Its First Female Electrical Apprentice
Whilst many companies are battening down the hatches, one of Scotland's leading electrical contractors, AC Gold Services, is stepping up its operations and has added yet another apprentice to its acclaimed training programme with the appointment of its first female apprentice, 17 year old Ashley Bruton.
The company , which has already won several major contracts this year including Heriot Watt University, Glenochil Prison and Craigengalt Wind Farm, is reinforcing its commitment to only using inhouse electricians by ensuring it's apprenticeship scheme continues to produce a steady stream of top quality tradesmen to facilitate the increased demand.
Ashley joined AC Gold with 12 month's experience as an electrical apprentice after being made redundant from her last company due to a downturn in work load and she has already made an impact with her determination to show that she is better than the boys.
Contracts Manager, Scott Paterson, explained, " From day one, Ashley's attitude and work ethic has been first class. She expects no special treatment just because she's a girl and is determined to prove that no boy will be better than her."
